Join us on Facebook Live 3rd September from 1pm to watch an update on our supermarket campaign.
Last month, we asked you to sign our letter to supermarket bosses. Long queues, unclear rules and poor staff understanding meant that too many autistic people and their families were struggling to get food. If shops made a few simple changes – like staff training and consistent rules – it would make a huge difference. Nearly 9,000 of you signed the letter – thank you so much for your support!
We made a video hosted by Connor Ward, autistic speaker and consultant, who interviewed:
- Caroline Stevens, our CEO, about why the supermarket issue is important to us
- Venessa Bell, autism activist and parent, the struggles she’s had shopping and what she thinks needs to change
- Gary Grant, the CEO of toy retailer, The Entertainer, to discuss the changes he’s made in his stores to stay autism-friendly and how we can encourage other shops to do so.
Watch our discussion over on Facebook at 1pm:
We’ll be sending this video, along with our letter, to the supermarket bosses. Together, we can make sure that they know that getting it right for autistic customers should be a priority.
Thanks for your support,
Beth

P.S. We have a new campaign coming out soon! Keep your eyes peeled.
