Does your MP know about the new autism strategy? – NAS

Email your MP

Right now, over two thirds of autistic people in England say they’re not getting the support they need. That means more than 300,000 autistic people are struggling to do things most people take for granted, such as socialising, managing money, getting out and about. Not enough is being done by the Government to ensure that there are services available to help them.

This is unacceptable. We know you understand this, but now we need your help to make sure the Government understands this too.

Ten years ago, the Government promised us that they would improve support for autistic people with the Autism Act. Ten years later and we’re still fighting to make this promise a reality. That’s why we’ve launched our #NotEnough campaign to call for the funding and staff to finally make this change happen.

Currently, the Government is reviewing its national autism strategy in England, and for the first time, it will include children as well as adults.

This is our opportunity to push for progress.

We want to make sure that the needs of autistic people are reflected in this strategy. We’ve arranged an event in Parliament where MPs can meet autistic people, their families and professionals to learn about the challenges they face and how a better autism strategy can transform their lives.

Will you help us create a society that works for autistic people by inviting your MP to our event? Join our #NotEnough campaign by filling in the form to send an email to your MP.

Thanks for your support,

Beth

P.S. We know that MPs are busy at the moment, but this can’t wait – autism must remain on the Government’s agenda. We need lots of MPs to come to our event and learn about how they can change things for autistic people, so please share our campaign with your friends and family.
