The first ever autism training for MPs – NAS

Help us to reach MPs across the UK

As an autism campaigner and a parent, I know how important it is for our politicians to understand autism.

Since 2014, I’ve been campaigning with other parents, carers and autistic people in my community to challenge cuts in social care spending. Cuts in care packages and support services are already having drastic consequences on families like mine. With more autism understanding, I believe our MPs could make better decisions about the support autistic people and their families need

This World Autism Awareness Week is a perfect opportunity to invite your MP to attend the first ever Understanding Autism session for MPs.

This year is a particularly important time for this training as we mark ten years of the historic Autism Act, looking at what’s worked and what hasn’t. While we have come a long way since the Autism Act became law, we know there is more to do to achieve a society that truly works for autistic people and their families.

Having MPs who appreciate the challenges and strengths of autistic people will help ensure better understanding and better laws.

Help us to reach MPs across the country to improve autism understanding.
