Another busy week here at Axia with our clinicians carrying out excellent work.
We would like to remind everyone who has upcoming appointments with us that we are still able to conduct face to face assessments. We have had confirmation from Red Hill House that the building will remain open.
Just to confirm, all staff and visitors are required to wear masks in the communal areas of the building, unless exempt. We are still observing the Social Distancing rule of 2 metres and have hand sanitiser available in all of our clinic rooms and offices, in addition to those positioned around the building. Visitors are reminded to keep themselves and others safe by using the hand sanitiser provided before entering and leaving the building. Our clinic rooms allow the space for Social Distancing of 2 metres so families and individuals can remove their masks, if wearing, once inside the room should they feel more comfortable in doing so.
Some of you may remember Amy-Louise, who was a part of the Axia team but left after becoming a mother, and then subsequently commenced her Adult Nurse training at University. This week, she has asked for volunteers to share their experiences with her of being stereotyped, particularly by healthcare workers, as research for an essay she will be writing. You can see the post and how to get involved here.
This week also saw the Anime Amigos brought together for a socially distanced Vlog. Look out for this in the coming weeks.
We posted a reminder from the ‘National Autistic Society: NAS – Last chance to take action’, which gives you the opportunity to sign a letter urging for funding to support autistic people. You can always find out more about how to support this much needed charity by visiting their website: https://www.autism.org.uk
If you have been watching Calvin and Ren’s stream on a Friday night, then you will have seen them play ‘Crash Bandicoot 4’. Calvin posted a review of the game this week.
The Film Society is back again this week with Calvin’s review of ‘Saint Maud’. Look out for another film review this time next week.
Calvin and Ren streamed, as usual, this week, continuing with ‘The Last of Us: Part II’ on Tuesday. They will be streaming again later at 7:30pm and the game will be ‘Crash Bandicoot 4’.

Thanks for some rays of hope, yet again!
Now if Red House were just a few metres further West, you might be under the Welsh fire break lockdown by now. Thank Luck that is not the case! (That said, I am definitely in favour of both fire breaks and autonomous tough calls in such straitened times.) Have a nice weekend yourself, and lets hope your location close to the border doesn’t (again) cause too many problems.
Not to worry
We are an essential service so can continue to operate
We have not had a brake in service due to the commitment and skills of the excellent team at axia
I’m full of admiration, really! Few worries at all in this remote location; although we have our fair share of border/COVID issues here too!
Saw this and thought it highly amusing:

So I imagine Calvin’s movie review process has also had to adapt. 😉
