This is a real opportunity to make a difference and make sure that there is as good a response to the proposals as possible, and especially that it reflects accurately the views, experiences, needs and aspirations of real autistic people, so that the Department for Work and Pensions is able to see what the implications of this policy might be.
The NAS will be running a consultation meeting in Manchester, 1.30 – 4pm,
Thursday 12th January 2017,
at the Friends Meeting House,
6 Mount Street, Manchester, M2 5NS.
There will be an overview of what the Government is proposing, and some key questions that we’d like people’s help in responding to.
They are interested in talking to a wide range of people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences – autistic adults plus also parents/carers, reflecting the different ways/extent to which autism affects people.
People who are (or have been) employed, people who have looked for work, people who would like to work (or work more hours) if the right support was available, people who are unable to work, parents who are concerned about their children’s future.
They want to hear about it all!

(or you forget over Christmas)!
