Axia ASD Virtual PDSG Q&A with Dr. Luke Beardon – March 2021

We are all extremely grateful to Luke for taking time out of his busy schedule to spend a couple of hours with us, sharing his personal thoughts, in a private capacity.

For those of you unable to attend our virtual Post-Diagnostic Support Group, we would like to share with you a selection of the questions Luke was asked, and his responses.

Thank you to all who did attend, making a very special, interesting and entertaining afternoon, and we look forward to seeing you at our next PDSG in April.

A massive thank you to Linda, Luke and all at Team Axia for making this meeting happen.
It has been really helpful to watch the edited version; one can miss quite a lot when watching the live event, even when concentrating hard – perhaps that’s why!
Thank you to Keiran for managing the meeting – hopefully practice will help me to be more adept at digitally “raising my hand”!
I like the music that is used at various points through the edited version – a really great job.
    Many thanks indeed.
    Kindest Regards

      Hi Helen,
Glad you enjoyed the meeting, it was very enjoyable wasn’t it.
I know what you mean about difficulty concentrating, even when one is really interested in the topic, especially when it’s over two hours! The time flew though.
I’m pleased you liked the music too, I found it on Bensound where they have copyright free music.
Best wishes, and hopefully see you next time 🙂

It is always good to be able to replay some parts of the discussion. Well done yet again AXIA-ASD! And I’m definitely looking to the next virtual PDSG. It’s a bit like finding one’s own network at these sessions. And after a lockdown (and a rather locked down previous life), it is now very important to reestablish some social links. And to those of you lucky enough to live fairly close to AXIA, I expect you are looking forward to the next cake sesh and film society get-together.

One of my lockdown activities is brushing up on my Welsh language skills. Seeing as you are also so close to the border, I wonder if some of the group might be interested in communicating in Welsh and or English very occasionally. I don’t get to chat very much at all these days. I’m one of those people who frequently has quite a lot of bad things to say about Facebook, but I have noted that at least one FB Welsh site is really quite entertaining. It’s the humour that makes it.
