Hart School is a 3 month Arts programme that is designed to be free, inclusive and accessible. This opportunity is open to adults of all ages and prioritises those who are typically excluded from similar opportunities due to financial barriers and lack of specialised support for disabled artists.

One of our confirmed students at Hart Club

Hart School is an intensive summer school where students and facilitators work in a radically inclusive, non-hierarchical, collaborative learning environment that supports participants to develop confidence in their creative practice. We will provide highly specialised and supported learning with a superstar team of guest artists who will share insight into their practice through guided demonstrations, talks and studio visits. There will also be a weekly check in with an Art Therapist, free acupuncture for those who want it and a nutritious plant-based lunch each day, to ensure the students feel supported throughout.

We also have an amazing line-up of partners such as the Barbican, clothing brand YMC, independent brewery Mondo Beer & female-led skate brand Doyenne — providing tangible opportunities for their creative work to be seen by a wider audience.

As well as a final exhibition at Hart Club, the gallery will open every Saturday throughout the Summer for you to visit and check out their work in progress. We will also continue to support our artists for a full year following to programme to pursue opportunities for creative and financial recognition for each student.

Our mission is to build a solid network for our future scholars who typically lack access to opportunities in the creative industries and the chance to work alongside those within.

More about Hart Club:

Hart Club’s mission is to champion neurodiversity within the Arts. We commission original artwork and content that focuses on collaboration and celebrating the intersection of ideas and differences in artistic approaches and ways of thinking. Hart Club provides a platform for neurodivergent artists to access creative and financial recognition for work that so often goes unseen.

We actively facilitate collaboration to explore the benefits of this creative exchange and to encourage conversation around diversity and inclusion in the Arts and beyond. We work with charities and organisations across the UK to remove barriers to access creative opportunities for the artists they support.

Our core aims:

  • To champion neurodiversity in the Arts
  • To forge working relationships between artists
  • To build confidence, community and wellbeing
  • To gain creative & financial recognition for artists
  • To encourage conversation around diversity and inclusion
