Supporting Autistic Teenagers & Young Adults

Axia is very pleased to be involved in the upcoming webinar ‘Supporting Autistic Teenagers & Young Adults’, which is run by Autism Learns.  Dr Linda Buchan will be presenting ‘Understanding depression and what therapies can help autistic teenagers cope’ on Saturday 1st October at 11am.

Description below taken from the Autism Learns website:

Adolescence and early adulthood can be especially challenging for autistic people. Feelings of social isolation, lack of self-worth, and pressures to learn and be more independent, lead to a heighted vulnerability and proneness to mental health difficulties.

In this online learning series, our team of leading autism specialists will share practical approaches to help you successfully support autistic teenagers and young adults through the testing time of adolescence. We’ll examine the best learning environments for autistic students and uncover teaching strategies to enable engagement and development. We’ll also explore the mental health issues which many autistic teens face, including anxiety, depression and eating disorders, and look ahead to the transition into adulthood.
