Ever thought about becoming a small publishing house? (I’m tempted to attempt to write something myself, for instance.) It seems that Jessica Kingsley has largely cornered the UK market for books in the area of neurodiversity; but I imagine there is room for others. As a semi-retired person who sometimes proofreads theses, scientific articles and reportage, I might be able to assist such a move.

    That’s an interesting idea
Thank you for your offer to help us
Proofreading is a very important part of the publication process
We are happy to receive anything people write, to at the very least see if we think it would be good for our website

[Up to you whether you think this reply should be posted in public on your site, or not.]

Just to say that if you have something that needs proofreading, you could just send it to me as an email attachment. We could initially do that on a trial basis, so you can figure out whether I’m suited to your working style. This post includes my email address. We have met before, a couple of years back. So you probably still have my contact details and background. As you might remember, I’m an expatriate; but a lot of proofreading can be done remotely, with occasional recourse to emails to achieve a better understanding.

I’m no grammar fanatic. I tend to concentrate on making subjects accessible to readers in fairly plain language. However, I also like to let writers speak for themselves in a style in which they are comfortable. (I also enjoy doing some further research on the subjects I proofread. So I might occasionally have some usable input of my own.)

I’m not yet ready to write about my own experience; but it could still happen. That is perhaps because I’m still refining a highly personal approach to get more enjoyment out of life in my later career. If that strategy works out, I might then feel inclined to write about it.

    Thank you
Useful for any of you who need anything proofreading too
