ChAPS Art Exhibition – ‘Awakenings’

As ChAPS finish their 7th year of operation next week, they are really pleased to be celebrating this event with an Art Exhibition being held at their new large Training Room at Northwich Business Centre.

They are showcasing the talents of children and adults on the autism spectrum with an exhibition entitled

‘Awakenings’.

Using a variety of medium from clay, sculpture, paint, mod roc to environmental and comic art sessions the children have expressed their feelings in a very physical way using media. ‘Awakenings’ could be a very positive outlook as the child or adult may have realised they have an amazing capability and are celebrating their uniqueness, or it could have a negative viewpoint if they realise that they are different to their peers and feel frustrated, so quite dark.

It promises to be an inspirational Exhibition and they are also delighted to welcome The Mayor of Northwich, the MP Graham Evans and the Police & Crime Commissioner David Keane to the official opening next Thursday at 4.30pm. They will be providing canapes and drinks, and expect the Northwich Guardian to attend. More importantly many of their budding artists will be in attendance, and they hope be congratulated for their enlightening contribution to ChAPS first Art Exhibition. Parking is across the road at Memorial Court Leisure Centre, thank you.

They also celebrate moving into April with World Autism Awareness month and are working in partnership with CWaC Libraries to provide some sessions as detailed in the flyer below.

Please do go along with your children and see what they can do for you and your family. They now have 70 activities every month – too numerous to mention here, but the support they provide is exceptional (as parents tell them!).

If anyone would like hard copies of these flyers, please don’t hesitate to get in touch, they are happy to provide them. ChAPS would be very grateful if you could circulate this information to your networks, thank you.
