I think it would be a really good idea to make sure family members understand a diagnosis at the same time as giving a diagnosis because after my diagnosis my family started blaming me and telling me I was making excuses and telling me to get a second opinion!
They blame me for having autism and tell me it’s my fault and I’m just making excuses. It is an awful thing to have to go through
