Axia Weekly Bulletin – 12/2/21

Another busy week here at Axia with our clinicians carrying out excellent work.

Just a reminder to those of you who are due to visit us for face to face appointments, all staff and visitors are required to wear masks in the communal areas of the building, unless exempt. We are still observing the Social Distancing rule of 2 metres and have hand sanitiser available in all of our clinic rooms and offices, in addition to those positioned around the building. Visitors are reminded to keep themselves and others safe by using the hand sanitiser provided before entering and leaving the building. Our clinic rooms allow the space for Social Distancing of 2 metres so families and individuals can remove their masks, if wearing, once inside the room should they feel more comfortable in doing so. There is now also a separate entrance and exit to the building to avoid congestion at the front door.

If you have a virtual appointment with us, please see the post: ‘Advice for those Attending Virtual Appointments’.

Don’t forget that our next PDSG is a Q&A session with Dr Luke Beardon on Wednesday 10th March 2021. Please see Kieran’s post: ‘A Note About Our March PDSG’ for details about how you can be involved.

This week we posted a link to a fantastic research paper: “Best Things”: Parents Describe Their Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder Over Time. This study asked parents about their perceptions of the character traits of their children from early childhood to age 11 and the results emphasise their strengths.

We also shared news from ‘Hart Club and The Golden Thread Project’. ‘Hart Club’ is a brilliant organisation who champion neurodiversity within the Arts. They are based in London and are sadly closed to the public at present but are clearly continuing with excellent projects such as this.

We announced this week ‘Changes to Payment for Our Services’ which will come into effect on 1st April 2021. We thought it important to inform anyone planning to access any of our assessments, therapy or psychological interventions of this in advance.

A big thanks to Elliot this week for his review of the game ‘The Medium’ which we posted on Thursday. And Calvin also posted a review for ‘The Film Society’: ‘5 Films That Didn’t Deserve To Bomb At The Box Office.’

Calvin and Ren streamed as usual this week. On Tuesday, the game was ‘Ghost of Tsushima’. They will be streaming again later at 7:30pm, and they are continuing with ‘Hollow Knight’.

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.
