This book is a really compelling deep dive into why women are so underdiagnosed with autism, covering everything from the neuroscience to the broader societal factors at play. It is a great balance of real perspectives from people affected with the more technical and historical elements, making it genuinely engaging throughout.
Some of the facts are pretty shocking, and the book works really well as both a scientific exploration and a social commentary. It makes you reflect on how much has been misunderstood and overlooked for so long.
I would highly recommend this book for anyone interested in neurodiversity, gender, or just how we as a society understand, and fail to understand, the lived female experience.
