Friday 1st May – Update

Hannah Williamson, one of our Clinical Psychologists, works in an NHS learning disability team in Oldham as well as working for Axia.
She has shared these resources from her other role, that might provide some tips on managing distress during this difficult time.
They are developed primarily for people with a learning disability, however could be useful for a wider range of people. We hope they are helpful to some of you.
Please let us know on the website or Facebook if you need to find other resources, as we may know about others that could offer support.

The title of your post should be Friday 1st of May not Monday 1st of May

I’m really grateful to you for sharing this. The lockdown situation is making life very hard and there are extra pressures.
I feel I’m having to mask even more; and under pressure to help in ways that are demanding extra of me.
So, to be reminded to take care of myself and to have these ideas has been a help. Thank you.

Please take care of yourself Helen
We want everyone to take care of themselves

Thank you so much Linda, you and the Axia Team are a great help. And your daily reports are very welcome.
A bit like a lighthouse in a storm.

Yes I agree it is helpful to have anything every day that is quite repetitive and the same in some ways. I actually like it when Linda repeats things, even though she may think this is annoying-on the contrary it is not annoying when people repeat things
